The quake shook the area for a prolonged time but local newspaper websites are not reporting significant damage at this point.

Reports claim that the tremors were felt locally in San Salvador, Usulutan, La Paz, San Vicente, as well as, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Should any negative reports arise, they will be reported here.

At this time, there is no known damage/casualties to report.

Tremors are very common in Central America as the entire area is riddled with volcanos. In the past few weeks, tremors and earthquakes have been reported along the entire Ring of Fire – which runs literally along the North-South American Pacific Coast and around to the east: Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, etc.
