J. Atlee Horner III
Board Member
J. Atlee Horner III has been a part of the COAR community since 2004. He began as a teacher-volunteer by promoting solidarity between Cleveland high school students and our ‘internos’ when they would translate our annual sponsorship letters each spring and fall. In subsequent years, he was a volunteer at the Children’s Village, our Director of International Programs, and a Board Member. Atlee holds a BA from John Carroll University in Spanish, French and Psychology; an MEd from John Carroll University; an MA in Spanish language and culture from Cleveland State University; he is ABD in a PhD in Foreign Language Education and is currently a full-time Seminary student at the Chicago Theological Seminary. Atlee has been in a unique position: he has spent his entire adult life studying, working or teaching in Catholic settings while also being a member of the UCC church. Atlee brings the deepest respect for the Catholic Church and community to our organization while also being able to bridge our mission with other faith groups and communities.
