After the flood . . . the rainbow
Thanks to all who responded with consolations, prayers, and gifts to repair our computer center
(the subject of last month’s dramatic email and video, if you missed it, look below).
But the kids bailed the water and we will repair and rebuild - thanks to you!
We will update you with details and costs when we get them
Two weather systems — one along Guatemala’s Pacific coast and the other in the Gulf of Mexico that developed into Tropical Storm Alberto —brought saturating rains to El Salvador during the week of June 17th. Classes were suspended around the country due to the weather for the whole week. At COAR, the patio outside the computer center flooded due to the rains, but staff was able to place barriers at the doors to prevent the water from entering the computer center. They were then able to place barriers around the patio and removed the water, which had collected because of a clogged drain, with buckets.
The computers were saved — but repairs to the structure remain to be done. We’ll keep you posted.
