Archbishop Romero ~ Beatified May 23rd
COAR is the oldest extant organization to carry Msgr. Romero’s name
with the blessing of the Archdiocese of San Salvador

Below are The Living Stations of the Cross (seen here at COAR last year.) They are a great Salvadoran tradition. It is a fitting backdrop for the beatification of Msgr. Romero, who suffered for the Faith and the future of his country and its children.


May 23 outdoor Mass set for beatification of Archbishop Romero

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (CNS) — Salvadoran Archbishop Oscar Romero will be beatified in San Salvador May 23, said Italian Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the postulator or chief promoter of the archbishop’s sainthood cause.

The ceremony, which moves the murdered archbishop a step closer to sainthood, will be in Plaza Divino Salvador del Mundo. The archbishop said Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Congregation for Saints’ Causes, would celebrate the Mass.
