Notes From Quarantine

As we’ve been preparing the Spring Sponsorship mailing to go out, (Don’t worry, sponsors, you’ll get to read your whole letter for yourself soon!) a common thread runs through the residents’ letters. Staying. At. Home. We’re all living through the same storm these days, so let’s take a look at what the COAR residents are doing to pass the time…
(Just a hint, many of these activities will seem familiar to us!)

Most importantly, learning to take preventive measures like washing your hands and covering your mouth when you sneeze!
Merlin is keeping in shape – the girls are enjoying Zumba videos from 4:00-5:00pm every day!
Juan Carlos writes, “We are working more in our garden, where we’ve planted radishes, cucumbers, tomatoes, chayote squash, and green pepper.”
Raúl has been practicing a new discipline: meditation! With the help of some audio guides, he’s learning, he says, to connect with himself and nature.
While Merlin has been exercising, Leydi prefers to bake…if only she could find the ingredients!
And just like students across the globe, Carlos sounds like he’s been busy rolling his eyes as his teachers adapt to using technology. Quote, sometimes the teachers send the wrong homework and my friend Dionisio’s teacher was asking him for homework he’d already turned in a while ago, endquote.
