Seeing Through the Eyes Of A Child
Milagro’s Sponsorship Letters

Dear Coarsey Family,

It was just so wonderful to get your letter – Thank you so much. It was great.

Thanks to God, things are going well for me this year in the Tourism program at school. This year, we are focusing on cooking and catering. We are making all kinds of sauces and gravies: tomato sauces, mayonnaise based sauces, Spanish and velouté sauces, etc. It is my job to prepare a Bechamel sauce which comes from Italy. This is a very easy sauce to make because it is only made up flour, margarine and milk.

Well, May is the month of Mary and we pray the Rosary to our Holy Mother. And, here in El Salvador, on May 23rd, we mark the 1 year anniversary of Monsenor Romero’s beatification. All Salvadorans are praying for Romero to be Canonized. But, May is a lovely month since it is dedicated to Mary.

May God and the Virgin bless you.

Best wishes,

Dear Mr Kuczwara,

Hi! How have you been?

I hope that you and your loved ones are all well.

Thank you so much for the letter. I love reading your letters.  I’ve kept them all.

Happy 4th of July!!!! I hope that it is a great day for you!

Here in El Salvador, it has been a very violent winter [our summer=their winter]. Not a single day goes by without someone being killed on the streets. It’s a really ugly situation.

There are 2 groups that are doing all of this violence: We call these groups the “pandillas” or gangs. There are two main groups of gangs here: one group is called MS which stands for Mara Salvatrucha and there is the 18s or 18th street gang. Well, the MS gang is also known as the 13s now. So, we can’t use the number 18 or anything that has to do with the number 18. We also can’t use the number 13 (or they think we are in the gangs). I keep praying that finally Peace will reign in this country and end the violence.

Well, I will say goodbye for now.

May God and the Virgin of Guadalupe shower you with their blessings.

Best wishes,

Milagro de los Angeles Carrillo Moran

MORE THAN ONE SPONSOR
$8,000/year

All of the COAR children have more than one sponsor.
The cost per child varies annually, but is currently $8,000/child/year.
They are safe and loved because they know that many people support
each and every one of them. Thank you.

Hope
